Icebox Construction Complete

The icebox is now in place and just about ready for paint.  It’s definitely been a project I learned a lot from as I tried to build the icebox in place, meaning a lot of fairing had to be done in blind nooks and crannies.  Let’s just say I’ve learned a lot and I’ll be happy to have this thing painted 🙂

The next project has me focusing on the diesel and sump tank in the bilge.  If you’d like to learn more about the icebox project, please visit the ‘Icebox‘ project page.

  1. So does it function like an actual “icebox” or are you going to install something modern? I know nothing about this so I was just wondering. Oor new house has an old school icebox in the wall in the pantry, kinda cool.

    • It works just like a fancied up cooler. Just add ice blocks and work to see how long you can keep the ice and the food cool. The real trick is getting the insulation and seals right, but you can read more about that in the “Icebox” area of the site.
