Cabin Sole Construction Complete


Last week I completed final construction of the cabin sole. This proved to be a project that needed a fair amount of consideration as the cabin sole affects a number of sections of the boat. Off the top of my head, those areas include:

  1. Awesome! I know nothing about sailing, but it sounds like you’ve got some good progress. So when do you think she’ll be sea worthy?

    • Great question and this is one I get very often! In general, progress is slow, but also steady. So, the simple answer I have is “It will be done when it’s done”.

      To be clear, I haven’t come to this answer easily. It’s taken some time for me to fully understand that building a boat is going to be a slow process. For someone like me, who needs to work full time to pay for the boat, learn every skill necessary to complete the project and give good, deep thinking about my projects – this means the process will take even longer.

      I may end up writing a full post some time in the future about the timing and process, but for now I’ll just leave this simple comment as a testament to the process.
